All scans, PDFs, OCR text, and AI outputs are saved in your iPhone's local storage inside the App's private sandbox. They never leave your device. If you uninstall the App, the documents are permanently deleted along with it.
Open the document, tap the share icon in the PDF viewer, and use iOS's share sheet to send the PDF via Mail, Messages, Files, AirDrop, or any other app you have installed.
Apple's VisionKit document scanner only works on a physical iPhone or iPad. On a Mac simulator it fails immediately. Please test scanning on a real device.
Scanning, OCR, and PDF tools work on every supported iPhone. The AI features (Summary, Chat, Extract Data) use Apple's on-device FoundationModels framework, which requires an A17 Pro chip or newer — iPhone 15 Pro / 15 Pro Max and later. On older devices the AI menu will tell you the feature isn't available.
The AI features use a small language model running entirely on your iPhone. They are useful for summarizing and pulling structured fields out of scanned documents, but like all AI they can occasionally produce incorrect or incomplete output. Always verify important details (dates, amounts, names) against the original document before relying on them.
DocWallet AI is free to download and supported by ads. iOS will ask for your permission to allow tracking the first time an ad loads — you can decline, and you'll still see non-personalized ads. You can change this choice anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
If a future version of DocWallet AI offers a premium subscription, you can restore previous purchases from the Settings screen using the "Restore Purchases" option. Restoration uses your Apple ID — make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID that made the purchase.
